From a Historic Residence
to a Cultural Legacy
Situated in Kamakura’s Hase district, the former Kagaya Residence was constructed during the Taishō period, showcasing a harmonious blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles. Originally a villa, it has been designated an Important Scenic Building, recognized for its design, architectural character, and historical significance. The Saihokukan Group has undertaken a restoration project aimed not only preserving this historic residence, but also transforming it into a cultural heritage site that will benefit the local community for generations to come.
